Trend-Worthy Styles: Walking Cradles is Pumping Up the Competition!

Footwear Insight recently released their Jan/Feb issue, which includes 13 trend-right comfort styles for 2023. These "Crowd Pleasers" include five sneaker styles, four booties, three slip-on loafer/clogs and one pump - Mira by Walking Cradles!

When the publication put out the request to brands, they asked for shoes that we think will be trending in 2023 and why.  For Walking Cradles, the Mira pump was a no-brainer! For the past three years we have seen a flood of casual styles in stores and on feet, but consumers are ready to dress up more as we return to offices and special events. What we don't want are the traditional dressier styles that kill our feet!

Walking Cradles shoe designer, Jamie Wells, had the insight to see the trend coming and the skills to make it happen! Using the Tiny Pillows system of dual-density cushioned foam (superior to memory foam), sueded microfiber sock linings (prevents sweaty feet) and moderate arch support, Jamie included these removable insoles into our pumps! A move of sheer genius! If super comfortable insoles are put into sneakers and casual shoes, why not put them into pumps and dress shoes, too! Women want to look and feel good in shoes they can wear all day in total comfort. How great would it be to be on the dance floor and not have to take your shoes off? Well, we are all in luck!

With a firm belief that the Walking Cradles customer would be part of this trend, we went out on a limb with our dress shoes and pumps. As a result, these are the styles that keep selling out! Had we known, we would have tripled the amount of pairs to prepare for the demand. As sales of these styles skyrocketed, so did our belief that this trend isn't going anywhere soon. Mira is available in four colors, and also has a companion pump, the Meredith, which comes in five colors.

Surprising, though, is that Walking Cradles seems to be the exception and not the norm to embracing this trend. While other brands are now scrambling to put dress and career styles back into their mix, they still have an abundance of casual shoes that have flooded the market since the pandemic.

Fashion is revolutionary - we like and buy things, then the trend cools off and something else comes back around as the "new" trend. What's great is when a trend re-emerges with something new and exciting. In this case, a comfortable dress shoe. We believe this trend will be pleasing crowds for many years and we are here to provide them - of course, in all the multiple sizes and widths that Walking Cradles has to offer!
