Women of Walking Cradles: Meet Phyllis

"Here's to strong women. May we know them, may we be them,
may we raise them."
Introducing Phyllis - Walking Cradles West Coast Sales

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR ROLE AT THE WALKING CRADLE COMPANY.

As a sales representative, I’m involved in placing the Walking Cradles collection in retail stores across the Western U.S.  Each season, I receive newly designed samples to introduce to our existing and potential customers. This involves attending trade shows, as well as visiting stores individually. In recent months, I’ve utilized Zoom calls to reach accounts virtually. I stay in contact with the stores throughout the process to keep them informed of delivery status, price adjustments, promotions, special orders, etc. Our Walking Cradles retailers are the very best!!

TELL A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU ENJOY OUTSIDE OF WORK HOURS.

When I’m not on the road, I love to cook dinner for my family.  So Relaxing!

Living in Southern California, I really enjoy taking Duffy boat rides [electric boast that slowly and peacefully cruise through calm waters] with friends in the Newport Beach harbor. So Fun!!

I’m passionate about travel and can’t wait until we regain the confidence to move about the world again.  So Ready!!!

TELL US ABOUT ANOTHER WOMAN WHO HAS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN YOUR LIFE AND WHY.

I love this quote—“Here's to strong women!  May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.” At 90 years of age, my mother is an incredible example of a strong woman. She grew up during the Great Depression and has taught me so much about what is truly important in life.  She is my rock and my biggest cheerleader. Her wisdom and grace have always carried me through.

Phyllis Family

My daughter is incredibly talented, smart, and resilient. Watching her make the necessary adjustments to pivot her business during the Covid-19 pandemic has left me in extreme admiration of her. She is the epitome of the modern woman—balancing her work, her passion, and her family, all while parenting a two-year old and delivering a newborn.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ANY ADVICE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF, WHAT WOULD THAT BE?

Know your worth and own it!  We all bring different, valuable skills to the workplace and never be afraid to share your story.

BEFORE WORKING AT WALKING CRADLES, DID YOU CONSIDER THE IMPORTANCE OF SHOES FITTING PROPERLY AND COMFORTABLY? IF YES, WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU LEARN THIS VALUABLE INFORMATION. IF NO, TELL US HOW IT HAS CHANGED YOUR THOUGHTS ON FOOTWEAR?

My mother always stressed the importance of wearing good quality shoes that fit properly.  Being vertically challenged [5'0"], I love shoes and boots with high heels, so I’m very grateful and appreciative of the comfort properties built into every Walking Cradles shoe!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WALKING CRADLES SHOE  AND WHY?

One of my fave new styles, Dash [coming out in mid-April], is the perfect sneaker for daily wear!  It’s sleek like a Ferrari and is easy to pair with any casual outfit. The Metro+ technology provides all-day comfort for cruising around amusement parks, attending sporting events, and running daily errands. When we are able to travel again, this will be my go-to shoe!

I also adore my navy velvet round-toed Matisse pump [sold out]! I wear it with everything from dressy skirts to torn-knee jeans. It’s super comfortable, surprisingly versatile, and just plain fun!

I’d like to give a shout-out to all the fierce women at Walking Cradles—a really epic group that works cohesively to share the message about the best, most inclusive brand of women’s footwear! It’s a matter of fit!

– Walking Cradles thanks Phyllis for her exceptional work she does here and for the example she sets for women everywhere. We hope Phyllis can soon return to traveling - both for work and for play!

Join us tomorrow, March 15, to meet another fabulous female who makes things happen at Walking Cradles!
