Introducing Cindy Fisher - Customer Service Extraordinaire!
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR ROLE AT THE WALKING CRADLE COMPANY.
My name is Cindy, I work as a customer service representative at The Walking Cradle Company. Yes, I take orders via phone, fax and email, help to assist customers with all their special needs and shipping, but I feel like I do so much more.
I had the opportunity to attend a few shoe shows in Atlanta and Las Vegas over the years and got to meet several of our customers. It was so nice to put a face with the voice I had been talking to for years. This helped create and build a strong bond. Many of them are like family to me even though we may never have the chance to meet. We talk about our family members, life’s ups and downs, not just business. I have stayed in touch with several who have retired over the years. One store I spoke to every single day for years had decided to come to St. Louis to meet me and my husband. We ended up spending the entire weekend with them. To me, this is not just a job, it’s building friendships though my job and I love it. This is the best company I have ever worked for.
TELL A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU ENJOY OUTSIDE OF WORK HOURS.
My husband, Kenny and I have been married for 38 years. I have one son, Craig and two beautiful granddaughters, Katie, 8 and Hailey, 5. I love spending as much time as possible with them. My family is my whole world. I am a big dog lover. My dog Zeke is the best pooch ever. My husband and I love camping (Well, glamping. No more tents for me). I also volunteer every day on lunch hour and after work at H.E.R.O.E.S. Care, an organization that helps support the military and their families. I love being a volunteer, I think it’s my passion.
TELL US ABOUT ANOTHER WOMAN WHO HAS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN YOUR LIFE AND WHY.
My mom was always my role model. She was the hardest working woman I knew. She was kind and generous and always thought of others before herself. She helped to feed and clothe the homeless whenever she could. I miss her so much. She passed away at 62. I hope I've made her proud.
IF YOU COULD GIVE ANY ADVICE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF, WHAT WOULD THAT BE?
Many people who know me know that I hate to have my picture taken, so this is RARE. I would tell myself not to let others judge you, just be the best you can be. Not to compare yourself to others because we are all unique in our own way. Learn to accept your flaws and work towards self development . Believe in yourself and see the wonders of that confidence.
Don’t let the fear of change paralyze you from making decisions that will lead to a more fulfilling life.
Listen to your parents. Talk to them, spend time with them. They are your best friends, mentors and teachers. Never disrespect or hurt them. They love you the most, truly care about you and no matter what, they’ll always be on your side.
BEFORE WORKING AT WALKING CRADLES, DID YOU CONSIDER THE IMPORTANCE OF SHOES FITTING PROPERLY AND COMFORTABLY? IF YES, WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU LEARN THIS VALUABLE INFORMATION. IF NO, TELL US HOW IT HAS CHANGED YOUR THOUGHTS ON FOOTWEAR?
I worked at Edison Brothers for 20 years. I test wore shoes for them all the time. I learned fast that a well made proper fitting shoe was very important. I have worked in the footwear industry for 42 years.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WALKING CRADLES SHOEAND WHY?
My favorite shoes…easy, it’s the Orleans. The most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I probably wear them 6 days a week. It doesn’t matter what I am doing - a full day at work, shopping or walking my dog, it’s the only shoe for me. I love my Orleans! Many thanks to Jamie Wells, our shoes designer for making my go-to shoe.
– Walking Cradles thanks Cindy for her exceptional work she does here and for the example she sets for women everywhere. To find all the colors in her favorite shoe, the Orleans sneaker, click here!
Join us tomorrow, March 9, to meet another fabulous female who makes things happen at Walking Cradles!
