A Sunday Funday Fashion Show with Bad Sister & Halo Boutique!

To kick off March, Walking Cradles had the pleasure of partnering with Bad Sister Boutique, along with Boutique at Halo in their sold out, Spring 2020 Fashion Show held on Sunday, March 1st!

The show was held at the beautiful Belle Court Manor, located in the charming town of Belleville, IL. VIP guests were allowed early entry at 3 p.m., giving them plenty of time to pick up their goody bags filled with sweet scents, accessories, and surprise discounts for future use!

Ladies mingled and perused the merchandise before other guests arrived! In true Sunday Funday fashion, mimosas, wine, soft-drinks and an impressive table of hors d'oeuvres were also provided! Walking Cradles displayed our upcoming Spring 2020 exclusive Boutique Collection in one of the main parlor rooms! It was wonderful seeing the excitement of the guests while viewing our newest upcoming styles. We met women who were unfamiliar with Walking Cradles and our variety of sizes and widths. We also were able to help women determine if they are wearing the correct size by offering foot measuring, which many had never done before.

Doors opened to the rest of the attendees at 4 p.m. To get things started, owner of Bad Sister Boutique, Heather Kapp, and Boutique at Halo owner, Cori May began with a few rounds of trivia! Participants answered fun questions about classic Disney films or had to 'name that song,' among other many other fun trivia questions for a chance to win one of three large gift bags packed with fabulous goodies!

Bad Sister Boutique, located in Columbia, IL, embodies everything sassy and sweet! Owner, Heather paints her shop with bursting personality - creating a space where you’re encouraged to look and feel your absolute best!

"We have always been a place where women of all shapes and sizes and ages come to not only shop, but get a break from their day and have a laugh or two!"

As introduced, Cori, owner of Boutique at Halo, may be small, but she is mighty! Her pieces pack edginess, but are the perfect addition any girl's wardrobe!

After three rounds of trivia, winning raffle tickets were announced. In addition to winning prizes from both boutiques, Walking Cradles gave away a free pair of kicks! Our Creative Director, Lisa Schmitz announced the winner, who was so thrilled, she almost jumped out of her seat!

Finally, it was time for the show begin! Heather, Cori, and Lisa took turns emceeing. Heather and Cori introduced the models who rocked out two different looks, both styled and accessorized by Bad Sister and Halo.

To complete each look, every outfit featured a a shoe from Walking Cradles’ Spring & Summer 2020 Collection! Lisa introduced each style to the audience, educating them on our signature Tiny Pillows® construction, as well as our size and width range. To spark some style inspiration, both Bad Sister and Halo Boutique's included bold colors and patterns which complimented our new line perfectly!

Some of the favorite looks of the evening included Lisa's, (Heather's best friend) first look of the night - a camisole with adorable printed cherries, layered with a white cardigan and black, straight-leg jeans! This look paired perfectly with the Reece - a classic, chic pointed toe flat in red patent!

Of course, organizing events such as this comes great opportunity for brand awareness - allowing people to become more familiarized with a company in an interactive and fun setting. However, the most rewarding part of being included in these events are memories made, and the relationships built. Heather stands by how important it is to stay involved within your community, as well as surrounding areas. In running a small business, relationships are key, with your customers, other small businesses and the community as a whole.

Walking Cradles has been lucky enough to work with Bad Sister Boutique in the past. We partnered with Heather this past Summer, during one of our Friday Facebook Live presentations! Heather welcomed us into her darling boutique, where she coordinated fabulous, fashionable outfits from Bad Sister with many of our favorite shoes and sandals.

With all the uncertainty happening right now, it's so important that we do our best to try and support each other in any way possible! Now, more than ever, we need to show some love to the local businesses that make our communities whole.

Heather wants everyone to know that "During this time we are continuing [the community outreach] in our Facebook group (Bad Sister Groupies) by offering fun games and lighthearted videos. We would appreciate all the online support we can get."

Although Bad Sister Boutique's doors are temporarily closed, you can still find all of their amazing merch on shopbadsister.com! Head to Facebook and follow their Bad Sister Groupies page so you can remain in the loop on all things Bad Sister!

Walking Cradles is also still shipping shoes from our online store. Taking cue from Heather, we, too are offering fun games, and lighthearted videos and blogs on our Facebook page. We also would appreciate all the online support we can get.

It was truly an honor being able to partner with two amazing women for such a fun event! We look forward to future collaborations with Heather and Cori and feel so excited for what's to come for their shops!
